At the zoo with Alex

We took advantage of a nice day to head to the zoo during our mid-winter break. As usual, the boys had a blast.

It was their idea to hold hands. Very cute!

Working with his fingers

So, while I've watched Ben play with the giant wood beads and string at his daycare, I didn't anticipate he would be able to so easily do the real thing. I had my jewelry supplies out the other day, and Ben really wanted to play with some glass beads and silk thread I had. Before too long, he had strung a whole line of beads without any help from me. He had a blast and was very proud of his creation.

Visiting Grandparents in Dec. 2008

I was told I was being remiss in my duties for not posting photos from our trip to Colorado to visit my parents, so I'm taking a break from all the grading I have to do (it's end of the semester/finals) to post a few.

Ben LOVED the giraffes. He still asks if he can go feed them. Alas, as cool as our zoo is, there are no giraffes.
Here's a cute pic of Ben and Grandma Mary at the zoo.

Grandpa Juergen enjoyed showing Ben how to use binoculars . . .

. . not to mention the landscaper's Bobcat.

more snow

Did I mention Ben loves the snow?

We used Lily's treats for the snowman's eyes, which explains her apparent fascination.

It turns out daddy is a master snowman builder. Ben looks to follow in his tracks, and was rather reluctant to come in out of the snow.

Winter Blast

So, we had a little bit of snow fall--about 8 inches at this point. Unlike other parts of the country that have the equipment to handle this kind of weather, everything here has pretty much shut down. It is gorgeous, though.

Day After Thanksgiving

Here are a few pics from the day after Thanksgiving.

We haven't quite found the perfect shot for our holiday cards yet, but it's nice to at least have one or two photos of all of us.

Bennett was so excited to have Grandpa Jim visit.
